Acting Workshops

A new Young People's Acting class for 6 - 9 year olds.

Tuesdays from 5:30 - 6:30PM.

Six Week sessions for $120.00.

Workshops and Private Lessons by Allen Schmeltz  (Allen's bio)

It is the goal of Allen Schmeltz to provide instruction for young people, teens and adults that allow them to become "real" on stage. It is not about how to act but how to stop "acting" and start "being." This is accomplished through theatre character analysis, theatre games, improvisation, monologs, scene study and analysis, as well as building on the strengths of each student and developing new skills.

Private Instruction

Private Lessons - $35 per lesson

Semi-Private Lessons (two students) - $25 for each student per lesson

General Information for Lessons

*  A 10% discount is available for two or more students from the same family or a student who is also   taking a workshop.

*  Payment is accepted by cash or check at the time of the lesson.

*  Lessons are held at the Sutter Street Theatre, 717 Sutter Street or at the Stutter Street Theatre Annex, 710 Figueroa Street in Historic Folsom.

*  There is no charge for the first lesson.

*  Lessons are 45 minutes to an hour in length.

*  Semi-Private students will be paired with those of an equal ability, age and experience and we cannot guarantee a placement in Semi-Private Lessons.

Workshops

Workshops in Scene Study and Improvisation for adults and young people ages 10 - 17 years old are being conducted in cooperation with Sutter Street Theatre Academy in Historic Folsom. In the workshops students learn the skills of acting and improvisation. Having fun while learning is a theme of the workshops.  

General Information for Workshops

*  The workshop tuition is $80 per month.

*  There is no charge for the first workshop session you attend.

*  A 10% discount is given to two or more students from the same family or to any student who is         taking both private lessons and workshops from Allen Schmeltz.

*  There is a maximum enrollment of 12 to 16 students in the workshops depending on the workshop format.

*  Some of the workshops are ongoing workshops and students may enroll at any time.

*  Workshops include a periodic showcase performance of student's progress.

*  Workshops are held at the Sutter Street Theatre, 717 Sutter Street or the Sutter Street Theatre Annex, 710 Figueroa Street in Historic Folsom.
